My birthday weekend in Barbados (in photos)

It was an honor and a privilege to spend my 44th birthday in Barbados. Thank goodness I didn’t have to get up the next day and fly out like I was on a temporary vacation. I had a great weekend. Even though, things didn’t go exactly as I planned, it was still a birthday to remember for sure.

First stop was a Mount Gay rum tasting and cocktail making tour. I believe this was only $30 USD and it was sweet. I was slightly drunk after I left there and the remainder of the day. My friend and I attended the event in St. Michael. Here are a few snaps.

Friday night, I ventured into Oistins (as I often do on Fridays) for the Friday night fish fry. I tend to get the same dish every time. Mo’s Grill – Marlin, grilled sweet potato, macaroni salad and tossed salad. Mmmm, good.

Next up…beach bummin on a Saturday morning. We hit Pebbles Beach. I have never been to that beach. It was a real treat.

Saturday night I dined with Bella Belle at Naru Sushi Restaurant. Someone asked me how I would rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. I give it a solid 7.5. The food was good. The drink was decent. The ambiance was good. The back of the restaurant looks out at the ocean. I enjoyed it.

Sunday morning brunch. I went to Bliss Cafe off St. Lawrence Gap. Cute spot, great food. I would definitely make reservations if you want to try it out.

Overall, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Barbados was exactly where I wanted to be and my weekend was great.
