When Andrew told me what seacat really was, you know what I did? Gagged and turned up my nose. I would never eat octopus like that in a salad. GROSS! And then I remembered that I do eat calamari. Why couldn’t I at least taste the seacat salad he ordered at Thelma’s. So I did try it and it was actually pretty darn tasty. I think it was the lime zest that made it for me. Anyhow, tucked away in the cut of St. Philip is Thelma’s. I always see the sign on the way to my apartment. I had been wanting to visit since I saw the sign. One Wednesday on one of our spontaneous adventures, that’s where Andrew and I ended up. We got there early, like 7 oclock. The parking lot was almost packed. There was a nice melanin crowd, plenty of rum to go around, and a domino competition. The vibe was real cool.
